The 2007 Oxford word of the year is "locavore," a
word coined by 4 women in San Francisco who are
committed to eating only food grown or produced within
a 100 mile radius.
Since this movement is about consumption and
reducing environmental impact (shipping over long
distance requires more fuel) and I consume a fair
amount of beer, I've decided to be a "beer
locavore."
In 2008 I will only drink beer brewed within a 100
mile radius of where I happen to be standing or
barstool sitting.
